You might remember Susie’s maternity session from July. Well. On August 30, 2013, those three babies didn’t want to wait any longer. The Hurley triplets–Sarah Caroline, Susannah Grace, and Paul– made their debut at 28 and a half weeks.
“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.”
Psalm 139: 13-16
A week later, providentially being in the area, I was able to spend the afternoon in the NICU and capture these photographs– Sarah Caroline and Paul getting their “care” from Susie and Tim, Susannah Grace peaceful asleep in her terrarium, as Tim calls it, and Susie getting to hold one of the triplets for the very first time.
Being premature, the babies have their ups and downs; yet, praise the Lord, they are here, they are growing, they are greatly loved! I look forward to the day where I visit with their mother and they climb trees, run around outside, and generally do crazy stuff that children do. So. Without further ado…
Introducing (sweet) first-born Sarah Caroline, 2 lbs 13 oz.
Meet the handsome (strong) Paul Black, 3lbs 1oz.
And, now, last but definitely not least, acquaint yourselves with (precious) Susannah Grace, 2lbs 12oz.
(One thing I noticed immediately is that all three children have their mother’s beautiful, long fingers.)
My heart is full to overflowing when I look at these precious children, when I think of the road that my dear friends are walking daily. “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.” Tim and Susie, you & your children are dearly loved and continuously being lifted up in prayer by many.
…Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

[…] few months ago, I had the humbling honor to document these triplets during one of their first few days Out In The World. Even now, it brings tears to my eyes to see where they were and how far the […]
Thank you for this. Makes me cry again, but now tears if joy and not grief. The Lord does not leave nor forsake us. And He loves these babies far more than we do. Love you!
Beautiful picture story of God’s love. So glad we get to watch the story continue…love being next door! What a blessing for us to be a witness.
